ENSAMBLE ORLANDO DI LASSO

OrlandoThe Orlando Di Lasso Ensemble occupies one of the top ranks of antique vocal music, particularly vocal music from the XV to the XVIII Centuries. For The Orlando Di Lasso Ensemble, it is absolutely necessary to study all the original sources, so as to create a highly expressive musical interpretation.  The name itself tells us of their specialty: Di Lasso’s music.  The Italian Madrigals written by Monteverdi, Gesualdo and Strozzi are some of the other works they prefer.
This Ensemble has received international recognition by their recordings, especially for the complete recorded production of Heinrich Schütz y Barbara Strozzi’s Madrigal Books.

Every singer of the Orlando Di Lasso Ensemble also works as a soloist under famous conductors of Música antiqua, such as Philippe Herreweghe, Thomas Hengelbrock, Frieder Bernius and Hermann Max.  Together, they tour throughout Germany and Europe and have been invited to many renowned music festivals.

DETLEF BRATSCHKE

Founder and Conductor of the Orlando Di Lasso Ensemble.

He studied religious music in Hanover and Freeburg, Germany.  He took private classes with Michael Radulescu, Harald Vogel, Robert Hill and Bob Van Asperen.

For many years he worked with Conductor Thomas Hengelbrock.  Highly experienced as cast singer and gemshornbass performer (organ and cembalo) in concerts, recordings and has collaborated with renowned people of musical spheres such as Thomas Hengelbrock, Frieder Bernius, René Jacobs Ton Koopman, Ivor Bolton, Howard Arman and Joshua Rifkin.

Detlef Braschke has been the Artistic Director of the Baltasar-Neumann Choir (Conducted by Thomas Hengelbrock) since 1992.  Starting on the summer of 1992, he has been the Musical Director of the New Court Band of Innsbruck (Neuen Innsbrucker Hofkapelle).   He also teaches antique music and sacred music.
