PRESS
“Carsten Daré Trio / Bantha Food: The most exciting piano trio CD for 2005, including 16 subtle miniatures audaciously adventurous was cut in Berlin. Carsten Daerr, together with Oliver Potratz playing bass, together with a sound researcher worthy of a Nobel Prize whose name is Eric Schaefer, to the battery, liberates E-music from all heavy models, unchaining jazz of decades-old well worn-out models; Bill Evans would never have dreamed this was possible”.
(Rolling Stone / Klaus von Seckendorff / 1/2006)
“In spite of temptations offered by the present comfortable standards and all products malls can offer, the Carsten Daerr Berlin trio performs without ‘Changes’ and pre-established ‘Bantha Food’ chord sequences (Traumton Records), combining sound exploration with modern experimental music and an equally enthusiastic vimful performance and spare pieces: Postbop-Powerplay, Reggae-Beats and impressionistic piano improvisations are added to beautifully named miniatures, such as ‘Rastaman Frustration (negativ)’, sounding as if inspired by ‘Star Wars’. – An adventure in the cosmic magnitude of sound.”
